Giveaways for my newsletter subscribers!
MANTRA Restaurant and Esquire Magazine have provided me with two interesting and fun giveaways this week. Instructions on how to enter these contests are provided in the welcome message when you join my email newsletter. I'm going to try to have cool stuff to give away at least once a month.
Giveaway #1: MANTRA Restaurant would like to put one of my newsletter subscribers and a friend on MANTRA's guest list for their New Year's Eve Celebration on Tuesday, December 31st. The tickets are valued at $50/each. The event includes a welcome glass of champagne, party favor and countdown festivities. Learn more about this event at the event listing on Exploit Boston! . Instructions to enter were included in this week's newsletter and are also in the welcome message for new subscribers.
Giveaway #2: Esquire Magazine sent me their new book "Esquire Drinks: An Opinionated Irreverent Guide to Drinking." I'm giving the book to one lucky newsletter subscriber. Instructions to enter were included in this week's newsletter and are also in the welcome message for new subscribers.
Your email address is safe. Keep in mind that I do NOT share email addresses with the companies who provide the giveaway items unless you are the winner. Your email address will only be used to contact you to arrange for pickup/shipment of the item. You will not be added to their house mailing list without your permission. In other words, this is not sketchy. ;) In the case of the MANTRA tickets, I will send the winner's email address to Natalie, MANTRA's marketing manager. In the case of the Esquire book, I already have the book and will give it to the winner myself.

Photos and stories
I'm still debating whether or not I want to move my amateur photography adventures (and related stories) from capricious.org over to sooz.com. Until this issue gets resolved, it's photo taking as usual at capricious.org. I picked up a used Olympus 2020 on eBay recently so I'm back to posting photos on a more regular basis.

I have a new web project called Exploit Boston!, "Boston's Independent Guide to Arts, Culture and Entertainment Events." Mostly I started it because I wanted to have one central place to keep track of events that I want to attend. I have a bad habit of remembering about events the day after they happened. There's still a lot of behind-the-scenes tinkering going on; but if you want to check it out, go to www.Exploit Boston.com. If the project seems interesting to you and you'd like to get involved, letme know. I'm particularly interested in conspiring with someone(s) who knows a lot about Perl and Movable Type. I'm also interested in hearing from people who want to get involved with web design and event listing contributions. Get in touch if you'd like to discuss ideas.
