Podcamp Boston 2 Photos
[Photo on the left: Fiz and Kosso. Photo on the right: Clarence.]
Better late than never! Being stuck indoors this weekend thanks to pesky bronchitis meant I had no excuse not to get caught up with some photos. Here’s my collection of photos from Podcamp Boston 2 that happened October 27-28 at the Boston Convention Center.
Podcamp is an “unconference” style event attended by several hundred internet+media enthusiasts: podcasters, bloggers, video bloggers and people new to it all.
I was a co-organizer of Podcamp Boston 2 and ran the welcome+info desk with Steve Sherlock and a group of volunteers.

The New New
Haven’t written on sooz.com in forever! Forever! Some new changes in the world of Sooz. I’ve headed back to the land of freelance after a brief stint working office Jobs in 2006 and 2007. Most recently I had an eight-month adventure as the interactive media director at BostonNOW. The first freelance job of 2008 is a marketing project. I’ll have more to say about that soon. And I am going to revive my event planning world starting with Free Agent Boston, a networking+events project I ran 1999-2004 for people working solo and in small teams around Boston.
But first up … bronchitis.

Say hi to Exploit Boston!
When most people were eating turkey the other day, I brought Exploit Boston! back to life. Instead of being an overall arts+entertainment blog, it now focuses on my love/obsession/whateveryouwanttocallit with music. Every Sunday I add a new “Get Out!” entry with live music recommendations. Here’s the upcoming week’s list of recommendations including Tourfilter DJ Night on Thursday at River Gods. There are 34 hours of music playing on Exploit Boston Radio featuring Boston bands past and present. I’ll be doing a big update to the station this week.

Michael is live blogging tonight’s Bruins game
Michael is live blogging tonight’s Bruins game at the Boston Garden via his BostonNOW blog. He’s updating it every 3-5 minutes with his usual “makes sports somehow sound interesting” style.

Boston Rocks! Girls Guns & Glory cover Johnny Cash
Girls Guns & Glory performed as Ryan Adams for their Halloween show at Hennessey’s a couple weeks ago. They also sprinkled in a few of their own songs plus “Folsom Prison Blues” by Johnny Cash. Here’s the video I took of the song. Try to ignore the shaky camera — perhaps a tripod next time!
