Sarah Blacker at the 2013 New England Americana Festival in Harvard Square

Back in September, dozens of bands got together to perform at the 2013 New England Americana Festival in Harvard Square. It was a superb two days of music. I filmed many of the outdoor performances. First up is Sarah Blacker performing “Shiver” from her new album Precious Little Things.

New on Sooz TV: Canadian power pop rockers Sloan at TT The Bear’s on December 3

[tweetmeme]

Sloan brought their epic power pop rock and roll to TT The Bear’s in Cambridge, MA on December 3, 2009. It was the first time I had seen them since 1996 or 1997. Crazy, yet true! They were as awesome live as I remembered them all those years ago. They’ve got a new EP out called “Hit & Run” that you can buy on iTunes. And why wouldn’t you? It’s awesome and only $3.99. Bargain! Check it out and buy it. Special thanks to the pesky drunk couple who I somehow inspired to move away from the front of the stage so people around me could enjoy the show without the two of them falling over on us. ;)

Sooz TV: Tour of TAZA chocolate in Somerville — How The Roaster Works

Sooz TV

TAZA chocolate gave tours of their facility in Somerville on December 6th. I’ve tried to use their chocolate for my truffles and they never turned out all that great. Next time I’ll probably use a little less of their choco just to give the truffles a different consistency without overdoing it. I definitely have a better appreciation for their “stone ground bean to bar” chocolate after co-founder Alex Whitmore gave a tour of how they make their chocolate modeled after a traditional Mexican chocolate making process.

In this video, Alex explains how the cocoa beans are roasted.
