Allow me to immediately digress in order to expound a bit on the word “hate”. Hate is a strong word. Tony Randall once said that we should reserve our use of “hate” for what is truly evil, such as war and racism. He prefers to say that he “despises” things, because when you despise something, you intensely dislike something that is beneath you. So, let me say that I both despise and hate pop up ads.
